Who we are
The Game of Makeup ("TGM", "we", "us") is a Professional Makeup Academy & Studio founded by Sarah Khan, at C 1070, opposite Lucknow Dental Clinic, Arawali Marg, Indira Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you visit our website, book our online makeup class, or contact us.
What we collect
When you book
- Your full name, email address, and mobile number with country code.
- The country you choose for pricing.
- Order details: amount, currency, booking status, Razorpay order and payment references, and refund status.
- Whether our confirmation email was sent.
We never collect your card number, UPI PIN or bank password. You enter those on Razorpay's payment window.
When you visit the website
- IP address: used for a short time to stop misuse, such as too many attempts. We save only a one-way scrambled code (a "hash") of it, which is deleted automatically, usually within 30 minutes.
- Approximate country: our hosting provider tells us which country you seem to be in, so we can show prices in your currency. We do not know your exact location.
- Your cookie choice: saved against a random code made by your browser. Our server keeps only a hash of that code.
- Technical logs: our hosting provider may keep short technical records (such as IP address and browser type) to run the website safely.
Saved in your browser
Our website saves a few small items in your own browser: your cookie choice and its code, the country you chose, and a private link to check your payment status (kept only while the tab is open; our server keeps only a hash of it). If you allowed advertising, it also notes that your purchase was already counted. Our website does not set its own cookies for these. Razorpay's payment window may use its own cookies to process payments safely.
Optional analytics and advertising
Analytics and advertising are enabled by default when this browser has no saved preference. The bottom ribbon shows these settings. Uncheck either option or select "Essential only" to turn them off; changes save automatically. We keep site defaults separate from a record of a choice you made. Existing saved opt-outs are respected.
- Analytics: Google Analytics counts visits and shows us things like pages viewed, checkout opened, and, after payment, the order number, amount and currency.
- Advertising: Google Ads, Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (Meta runs Facebook and Instagram) help us see if our ads work, for example when someone views the class, opens checkout or pays.
- With advertising allowed, after you pay, our server also sends Meta your email address and country as one-way hashes, so Meta can match the purchase to an ad.
- With these tools allowed, we also save with your order the Google Analytics visitor and session codes, the campaign tags in the link that brought you, Google and Meta ad-click codes, and Meta's browser code (from its cookie).
- These tools set their own cookies. Apart from the hashed email sent to Meta, we never send your name, email or phone number to these tools.
Changing your settings: open "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page. Switching a tool off stops its tracking in this browser immediately and removes its accessible cookies from our website. Your choice is also sent to our server; if that fails, the ribbon says so and we retry on your next visit. Information already sent cannot be taken back. Settings are stored separately for each browser and website domain.
When you contact us
If you message, call or email us, we use your details and message to reply and help you.
How we use your data
- To book your seat, take payment and confirm your booking.
- To send your confirmation email, Zoom joining details and other class information.
- To tell you about changes to the class, by email or WhatsApp.
- To answer questions and handle refunds.
- To show prices in your currency and keep the website safe.
- To count visits and measure our ads while the corresponding analytics and advertising settings are enabled.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.
We do not sell your personal data. We will not send you marketing messages without your permission.
How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: as long as needed to run the class, handle refunds, and meet legal, tax and accounting duties. Then we delete them or remove the personal details.
- Cookie choice hash: kept so we can follow your choice.
- Items in your browser: until you clear them (the payment status link goes when you close the tab).
- Messages: as long as needed to help you.
How we protect it
Payment details stay with Razorpay. Private codes are saved on our server only as one-way hashes. No public page shows anyone's booking, and only people who need booking details to run the class can see them. No website is fully secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
Your rights
Under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it,
- ask us to correct or update it,
- ask us to delete it (some records, such as payment records, may need to be kept where the law requires),
- withdraw your consent at any time (for cookies, use "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of our home page). This does not affect what was done before,
- raise a complaint (grievance) with us.
To use these rights, contact us. We may ask you to confirm who you are, for example from the email or phone number you booked with. If you are not happy with our answer, you can take your complaint to the authority set up under Indian data protection law.

Children
Our class is for people aged 18 and over. People under 18 can join only with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you think a child gave us personal data without this permission, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. Websites we link to, such as Instagram, WhatsApp and Google Maps, have their own privacy policies.
